The Friends recently awarded a grant to purchase art materials for the patients on the ward at Savernake Hospital.
Pictured here is Jim, a patient at Savernake and Louise, one of the hospital’s volunteers. Louise was a potter and has enjoyed helping the patients release their creative side making air-dried pots and tiles. She also helped one lady make an insect house, which she will paint and varnish, so that it can be put out onto the balcony of the ward.
As well as air-dried clay, the grant was also used to purchase watercolours, paintbrushes, pens and watercolour pencils.
