The Friends have recently awarded a grant of £2,460.33 for Paediatric SATS monitors for both Marlborough & Pewsey Surgeries.
Sally-Ann Vesey-Thompson from KAMP said, ‘The monitors will allow us to test correctly the Oxygen saturation of our smallest patients and give continuous readings. This will aid clinicians in their diagnoses and where necessary, reliably escalate to secondary care. By removing uncertainty, the monitors will also remove the burden on secondary care and enable patients to be treated in house. We had a recent experience in Pewsey, where a patient was unwell, and with this device we were able to identify changes in their ECG and update the ambulance service. This allowed us to escalate the response required from the emergency services and thereby achieved a positive outcome’.
