Over the past few months, during lockdown, the Friends have paid for morale-boosting meals, sandwiches and snacks for our wonderful staff at Savernake Hospital, as well as hand cream for our hardworking staff in our local care homes.
The Friends have received some lovely messages of gratitude from staff, which we wanted to share:
Message from Chestnut Unit
“The Friends of Savernake have been incredible at looking after the staff here …. all the kind donations have been very much appreciated. We had a few very challenging days that were made significantly better by having goodies donated. It made such a difference to morale.”
Message from Ailesbury Ward
“Thank you so much for all the fantastic donations; the Friends kept us going through really challenging times.”
Message from Oxford Health
“It has been an extremely lovely thing for [the Friends] to do and we will always be grateful for their generosity!”
Following discussions with staff at Savernake Hospital, and in view of the improving situation, the Friends have stopped their deliveries for the moment. However, the Friends have made it clear that they are more that willing to step in again to support the staff, if the need arises. The Friends sincerely hope that the situation continues to improve, and thank all the doctors, nurses, health staff and others who have been supporting the community during this time, and for the donations from the local community that the Friends have themselves received.
